12 years ago, it was impossible to imagine that Minecraft would have the impact it does today. But now, kids around the world are playing it on their tablets and computers, parents are playing it with their kids, and teachers are even integrating it into lesson plans to help students learn critical problem-solving skills. It’s hard to imagine what games will be like in 12 years, but we can guess based on what’s happening right now. With that in mind, here are 10 games you’ll be playing in 2022.

1) Call of Duty - Modern Warfare

It seems impossible to imagine, but Call of Duty has been around for a decade. Despite being one of – if not THE – most successful franchises in gaming history, it's really just getting started. In 2022 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released, and it will be unlike anything you've ever played before. At first glance it may seem like just another sequel (and a controversial one at that) but when looked at through a wider lens we see something completely different.

2) The Next Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is almost seven years old now, and a lot of people are clamoring for Nintendo to make a new game. While it’s not yet known if or when we’ll see another version of Super Smash Bros., there’s one thing that I am confident about: When it does happen, it will look and play better than ever before. Why? Because technological improvements are happening at an increasingly rapid pace.

3) Assassin's Creed: Origins

It's clear by now that Ubisoft is committed to mobile gaming. It already has games like The Division and Far Cry Primal available on smartphones, and now it's planning to release a brand-new game, Assassin's Creed: Origins (for both Android and iOS), in just a few weeks' time. Based on a leaked image of an internal Ubisoft email, we know it will launch sometime before March 31, 2017.

4) Battle Royal With Robots

Battle royale games are becoming a huge hit on mobile, and will only grow from here. Though it hasn’t quite overtaken Fortnite just yet, PUBG Mobile has become one of the most popular mobile games of all time. In addition to titles like Pokemon Go, Call of Duty: Mobile Ops, and Crossfire: Legends, expect battle royale games to continue their upward trajectory into 2022.

5) Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus, scheduled for a release sometime in 2019, is said to be one of 2018’s biggest gaming titles. Metro Exodus takes place 20 years after its predecessor, Metro: Last Light.

6) Red Dead Redemption 2

The year's most anticipated title will be Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2, a prequel to 2010's Wild West-set Western action game. Two trailers have been released so far, both of which are beautifully rendered 3D cinematic affairs. It remains to be seen whether RDR2 can live up to its hype—but if anything can stand up to it, it’s Rockstar’s pedigree.

7) Mario Party 2

This is more of a prediction than a wish, but it’s easy to imagine that Nintendo has bigger and better plans for their gaming icons. By 2022, we could easily see Mario Party 2 hit our mobile phones with an all-new interface allowing players to enjoy several hours of party games on their phones while they ride public transportation. Will we also see characters from Zelda and Pokémon? Maybe!

8) Spiderman 2

Spiderman 2 was created by a team of super-talented developers with a goal to create an even better game than its predecessor. After two years, Spiderman 2 was released on mobile devices with incredible graphics and highly addictive gameplay. It's clear that developers have taken steps to ensure that Spiderman is one of the best games for mobile devices. The game is available for free download at Apple iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon Kindle Store. The game will be released on Xbox One and PS4 in early 2019.

9) The Elder Scrolls VI

What better way to celebrate 20 years of The Elder Scrolls franchise than with a brand new installment? This game will be huge for mobile gaming, as its open-world fantasy gameplay and ability to play it offline could make it popular among those who don’t want to use their data. If you love fantasy games, you won’t want to miss out on The Elder Scrolls VI. It’s sure to be one of the best games of 2022.

10) Fortnite Battle Royale v2.0.0

Fortnite Battle Royale is an  highly fun and addicting game. And with its new 2.0 version that’s rolling out soon, it’s expected to be even more engaging than ever before.
